Everyday activities, such as cage cleaning, feeding, grooming, veterinary concerns and providing run time can be time consuming and expensive. There are a variety of things you can do to help support the homeless ferrets:

Add to Your Ferret Family (Or Start A New Family)

  • Adopt a ferret.
  • Foster a ferret.

We have a number of ferrets that are not adaptable for a variety of reasons. They may be biters, or have health problems. Unfortunately, there are only so many ferrets a rescue shelter can care for without diminishing the quality of care for all. By fostering a ferret for a time you can help us to provide care for every rescued ferret that is in need.

Donate Time

Volunteering your time can be a fun way to help make a difference.

  • Volunteer a few hours at the shelter.
  • Sew up a few hammocks and donate them.

Donate Money

The adoption fee is only a small part of what it actually costs to care for a ferret. Donating money can help us pay for veterinary care, vaccinations, food, etc.

  • Become a member or send a contribution.
  • The Kansas City Ferret Hotline Association is a 501c3, non-profit. Contributions are tax deductible.

Donations Supplies

Not comfortable with sending money? Then send supplies.

  • Check out our Shelter Wish List.
  • Keep your eyes open at garage sales, the Salvation Army, or the Goodwill. We can use baby receiving blankets, baby pajamas, or baby buntings as well as small pet carriers.
  • Buy your rescue's favorite food or treats and donate them.
